Lessons Learned from Years with Products

Important Information in Selecting Chemical Free Products

Skincare products that contain harsh chemicals could prove damaging to your skin. Take note that although these products would label to have natural ingredients, they are actually not natural. It is therefore good to understand the carcinogen nature of chemicals in your skincare products and know which are these products that are good for your skincare.

Perfumes and fragrances are examples of these products that may not be good for your skin even if they smell good. Be informed that these fragrances could affect our central nervous system that leads to hyperactivity, depression, irritability and other changes in behavior, because of the synthetic origin of the liquid. Therefore, as you go buying for something that smells good for your body, make sure that essential oils are used to add the scent.

Another product is known as petroleum jelly or petrolatum, which is a mineral used in several cosmetics. This oil has not nutrient value for your skin and can even lead to dryness and chapping because it interferes the body’s natural moisturizing mechanism, but is still used because it costs so little.

The next information to take note when you select your skincare products is the color content of the product, which may look good because of the synthetic color but may not be suited for the skin.

Products like dandruff shampoos, anti-itch creams and hair dyes have coal tar content that is a carcinogen ingredient and therefore something to be considered if used often.

Men use shaving cream, while women put on nail polish, perfume and hair spray, and when doing so, check out if the products have phthalates that could be in the ingredients of the products you are using that could lead to some disorders like allergies, and so it is better to read the label to find if it has this content.

Mineral oil like baby oil is one of the very common everyday skin care product that we use especially on babies, and take note that this could promote acne and slows down cell development, so it is best to use it as minimal or none as possible.

As you go buying your skincare products, it is better that you know or read some proofs, from the company’s website about clinical trials and evidences showing the product works, and that you can see the ingredients listed on the product.

It is therefore advisable that you look for products with natural ingredients, and that these are proven effective and safe for use on your skin. Examples of these good ingredients are grapeseed oil, active manuka honey, and nano-lipobelle.

It is thus important that as consumers, reading of labels to find out the ingredients of the skincare product we are going to buy, is an important step to be able to make a healthy choice of our skincare products.
